IMPORTANT NOTICE: We have a verification process in place to confirm that we can unlock your DME before you ship this to us. Please go through this process BEFORE removing your DME for shipping as we will not unlock any DMEs without going through this process first. DME production dates must be before 6/2020 to be unlocked.

NOTE: The V8 motors (ie N63 or S63) use 2 DMEs and you would need to send both in for a successful unlock. If you only send in one DME of your two, your unlock will show successful on our end but it would not fully work because you would still have one locked DME. 
As many of you are aware, BMW (and Toyota, for the Supra owners) has started adding additional software to the cars, that prevent flash tuning by OBD2. With this service, you now have the ability to mail your DME into DMVBMW for a Bench Unlock, to use any tuning platform.
After purchasing, you will receive instructions on where to send your DME into for service. Once received, the DME will be bench unlocked and re-shipped within one business day. DMVBMW will cover the cost of return shipping. 
Please note, DMVBMW is not responsible for DMEs that are received dead on arrival or damaged in shipping. The customer is responsible for shipping to DMVBMW and the cost covers return shipping and insurance. Additionally, please keep in mind that if a dealer does a software update to the car, it's possible for them to re-lock the DME (both in-person and remotely), which would require the DME to need to be unlocked again. This service is for 1 bench unlock. If a dealer re-locks the DME, an additional DME unlock service would need to be purchased. Furthermore, this cost does NOT include labor for DMVBMW to remove or reinstall a DME, as this is a 100% mail-in procedure and we do not offer that service.

  • Shipping

    We ship all orders to the address specified during checkout as the ‘shipping address.’ Please use a deliverable address. DMVBMW LLC will not be held responsible for the loss of a package due to inaccuracies in the ‘shipping address.’ All undeliverable packages returned to DMVBMW, LLC will result in a refund to the customer less shipping charges. Also, due to an increase in fraud, new customers can only ship to their billing address.

    Shipping charges are based on weight and dimensions. During checkout, several shipping options are provided. Please select the option that is suitable to your needs. Shipping times are an estimate and cannot be guaranteed. Tracking information, if obtainable, will be emailed to the customer when the package leaves our facility. International shipments can be delayed due to Customs which is beyond the control of DMVBMW, LLC. International shipments can take up to 60 days to reach destination. Any duties, tariffs, and/or brokerage fees are the sole responsibility of the customer. Please be aware of your country’s Customs and Tariff Policies before placing an order.

    Items on back-order will ship as soon as they become available. Updates on availability will be emailed when possible to the customer. Some items may remain on back-order longer that originally quoted. Back-ordered items may be canceled for a full refund before they ship.

    DMVBMW, LLC packs all merchandise carefully to prevent damage during shipments. Occasionally, damage may still occur in transit. Please inspect your package immediately prior to accepting delivery. Damages and evidence of tampering must be reported to Precision Raceworks, LLC and shipping carrier immediately. If damage is observed, refuse the package and 'return to sender'. If damage is discovered after order received, original packaging must be kept, and damages to package & packaging must be photographed and sent to Precision Raceworks, LLC when filing claim for damaged shipment.

    If you received a wrong item, contact DMVBMW, LLC at within 2 business days from the date of receipt to obtain a valid 'return merchandise authorization' (RMA) number. Replacements will be sent once the wrong item has been received and confirmed by DMVBMW, LLC.

  • Returns

    Refund policy

    DMVBMW, LLC will only handle returns for the direct purchaser. If the purchase was made from a retailer other than, please contact the place of purchase for further assistance.

    Returns on ‘new’ merchandise for exchange or refund will be allowed within 30 days from the date of shipment. ‘New’ merchandise cannot be used or show signs of damage from installation or mounting. If you install or modify parts ordered in any way, you automatically waive your right to returns, refunds or exchanges.

    All returns must be accompanied with a ‘return merchandise authorization’ (RMA). To receive an RMA, you must contact DMVBMW, LLC at When requesting an RMA, please provide the following details: Name, Order Number, Date of Purchase, and Phone Number. Returns will not be processed without an RMA. Returns must also be received within 14 days from the issuance of the RMA. A RMA does not guarantee a refund or replacement. All returns will be inspected upon return to DMVBMW, LLC for return eligibility. Returns must be shipped prepaid by the customers. Please maintain all shipping and tracking information until your return is processed since DMVBMW, LLC is not responsible for items lost in shipment. Shipping charges are not refundable. Please include a copy of your original invoice and contact information with all returns. Eligible returns will be exchanged or refunded less a 25% restocking fee. Refunds will be issued by check or to the credit card used for the original purchase.

    Purchases may be cancelled for a full refund before the order ships. Please contact DMVBMW, LLC immediately at to stop the processing of an order. Once cancellation is confirmed, a credit will be issued.

    Orders already shipped from our facility cannot be cancelled and will fall under the Returns for Refund or Exchange guidelines.

    Special orders or customized items can not be cancelled, returned or exchanged.

    It is the responsibility of the customer/installer to verify the proper size and application of all parts before installation.
